What am awesome ball park. Very old fashioned and much smaller than what I was expecting.
The outfield scoreboard actually has to be changed by sliding the numbers in a slot by hand. It's nice that all the advertisements are created in the same style as the scoreboard green and white.
The mascot, Wally, reminded me of the Phillies Phanatic, although he was not a big part of the game entertainment.
The game itself was pretty crazy. Between both teams they went though 15 pitchers. The top of the third inning was 35 minutes and the Red Sox let the Angels score 8 runs. We left at the top of the ninth to beat the crowds on the T. However, the game lasted 10 innings and four more runs were scored after we left. Unfortunately, the Red Sox lost the game.
The Red Sox fans were great. Maddie and I jumped and cheered right along with them, did the wave and sang "Sweet Caroline." Apparently, this is a bottom of the eighth inning tradition.
The announcer was about the most unenergetic I have heard. I guess I was accustomed to hearing Harry Kalas for years with the Phillies.
Post game fun was on the ride home on the T. Lots of Red Sox fans that had too much to drink...Maddie was, let's say, entertained.
