Two Hundred and Ninety Four Steps

Today we were off along the Freedom Trail once again...

We headed out this morning on the Trail towards the USS Constitution. Also known as "Old Ironsides," this ship was a fascinating place to visit. There was a very informative interactive museum that helped explain what life was like as a sailor back then.

We also toured USS Constitution and were able to go on board and see the deck up close and personal.

Quite a huge wheel to steer the ship!

Taking a little snooze on the replicas of the sailors' bunks in the museum.

Next, it was on to the Bunker Hill Memorial. As we looked up and contemplated the 294 steps up to the top, we thought, "Why not?" it was quite a climb, but worth the effort.

Resting at the top after the long climb.
Ready to take the 294 steps back down.

Resting after the exhaustive climb... Nice shade trees.
The Bunker Hill Museum had a very detailed
diorama illustrating the battle and troop movements.

This smaller diagrams had larger scale figures that were very
lifelike with amazing detail.

After a brief rest at the hotel and a quick dinner, it was off to our sunset cruise on the Harbor. More pictures from the cruise to come...
